“Fiddler on the Roof Jr. was spectacular. Outstanding directing and creative team. Strong leads and ensemble performances and meaningful storytelling.” - Renee Norris

This production of Fiddler on the Roof Jr. was rooted in empathy, cultural understanding, and historical education. From the very first rehearsal, we focused on building compassion and context—taking time to explore the real-world events behind the story. Jewish cast members took leadership roles in educating their peers on traditions, customs, and lived experiences, fostering a deep sense of respect and authenticity within the ensemble.

The scenic design was intentionally minimal, using only two rolling tables, four benches, and a central house structure. That house—rotating to reveal both interior and exterior—became the heart of the production. It served as a powerful symbol of stability, tradition, and ultimately, loss. As the villagers were forced to leave their home, the house stood as a visual reminder of all they carried with them—and all they were forced to leave behind.

This stripped-back approach placed the focus squarely on the characters, their relationships, and the emotional resonance of their journey—allowing the story’s themes of faith, resilience, and community to shine through.
